About Global Wine Partners
Global Wine Partners and its affiliate firms have played an instrumental role in the growth of the wine industry, working with hundreds of wine businesses for over 25 years and participating in the greatest era of growth in the history of wine… which is ongoing.
The firm's legacy dates back to 1982 when founders Vic Motto and Karen Kryla launched Motto Kryla & Company, which became Motto Kryla & Fisher with Mike Fisher in 1985. The firm is widely known as MKF. With a shared passion for wine and business, the partners built MKF into the preeminent and leading firm of wine business advisors – advising many leading wine industry pioneers along the way.
MKF went on to grow its wine business services by launching a number of related business units. These included MKF Research in 1997, one of the leading economic and wine market research firms in the industry, and MKF Capital Advisors in 2003, a spin-off of MKF’s M&A advisory business unit.
In 2004, MKF Capital Advisors merged with International Wine Consultants, wine merchant bank of Sydney and Paris, to form Global Wine Partners, the global wine investment bank.
As the investment bank grew, MKF merged its other business units with one of the top CPA consulting firms in the U.S., Frank, Rimerman & Co., LLP, which today manages MKF as its dedicated wine business division.
Backed by MKF’s strong industry reputation and IWC’s global reach, Global Wine Partners quickly grew and built its reputation as the leading wine investment bank.
In the intervening years, Global Wine Partners has forged relationships with major financial institutions to bring growth capital to the wine industry.
Today, the founding partners, Mike Fisher and Vic Motto continue to manage the evolution of Global Wine Partners and to fulfill their original mission: to foster and support the successful growth and long-term viability of the wine industry globally.
